“ A DE AMOR ” is a project created in 2005 by designer Ana Marques. A de A na, A de A mor, for the love with which she dedicates herself to decorating with Portuguese handicrafts. Graduated in Ceramic Design from the Escola Superior de Arte e Design das Caldas da Rainha, she currently has 3 Shops in Downtown and uptown of Coimbra, entirely dedicated to Portuguese Crafts, Decoration and Fashion Accessories. It bets on unique and different pieces, offering its customers taste, quality and differentiation, with love and dedication.
What started as a dream has become a reality. The store on Quebra Costas Street was inaugurated in October 2012. Famous for its immense staircase (whose numerous drops gave rise to the peculiar name) that connects Coimbra's downtown to Uptown and to the University, Quebra Costas Street exudes an energy that only those who know will understand. With its typical bars, restaurants, ice cream parlors and, of course, O Fado ao Centro where every day there is a Fado session for those who want to experience Fado de Coimbra.
In November 2013, we went down to Ferreira Borges street, in downtown Coimbra. A Pedestrian street, which starts at Santa Cruz Square, seat of the City Hall and the Church of Santa Cruz, where Dom Afonso Henriques, 1st King of Portugal, rests, and connects Visconde da Luz Str. and Ferreira Borges Str. to Largo da Portagem and the Mondego River. The Atelier Store, at 115 Ferreira Borges str., is where we create most of the exclusive pieces. It is inspired by the Traditional Painting of Coimbra and other thematic collections such as the Painting inspired by the Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
Portuguese handicrafts are so diverse and so appealing. From Vila Real de Santo António to Caminha, passing through the Islands, we seek to offer what each region has to offer, through some of the greatest artisans in their area. This store has given us more dimension to provide you with more variety, always with the quality and beauty that we like.
